6 Things to Know About Dotun Olubeko
I start my day with a 10-minute Vipassana meditation. There may not always be a dumbbell or salad available, but I always have my mind with me so training that has been the most beneficial thing in terms of dealing with the rollercoaster that is life.
I intermittent fast until about 1-3 pm and break my fast with high protein, moderate fat, and tailor my carb intake to my activity level. I used to be pretty unhealthy — little to no vegetable or fiber intake, no healthy fats, diet consisted of mostly cereal and meat. Since finding my passion in health, I consume a relatively balanced diet. On most days I also supplement with Lifeforce Vitamin D+K, Peak Healthspan, Omega, Methylation, and Magnesium.
My worst health habit is my sleep. I usually go to bed around midnight or even later.
I do my best to wake up naturally with the rising of the sun. Most mornings I do a 30-minute stroll around my neighborhood or a HIIT boxing session before work. I try to take a short walk outside and consciously engage in mindful moments every couple hours since I work from my computer before heading to a strength training session in the evening.
I'm a Senior Health Coach at Lifeforce, a proactive healthcare platform. I help members bring their personalized programs to life through providing lifestyle interventions, accountability, health insights, and quantifying their efforts over time in partnership with their Lifeforce physician.
I believe that perspective is everything. I ask myself questions like “what am I working for, and what do I want out of this life?” These questions have led me to understand that nothing is worth more than one’s health and it’s all we have at the end of the day.
